No, the chip in the iPhone will not handle LTE. LTE, while being developed by the same group the developed HSPA, is NOT the same tech and requires all new hardware.
Also, the iPhone 4 is not capable of working on upgraded networks. It does not support anything higher than HSPA (does not support HSPA+)

Verizon and Apple have at least 2 solutions they could implement to enable simultaneous voice and data on CDMA.

If it makes you sleepier, I don't have any inside information - I don't even know anyone who works at an Apple Store. I could be wrong, but it makes no sense to me that anyone would put down their online store on a Thursday afternoon a month and a half before Christmas unless it was a product update (well, frankly, I don't understand why Apple product updates on the Store work the way they do, but ).

I believe that an airport extreme, or 802.11g is plenty fast to stream High-def Video, and shouldn't apple change the name of itunes at this point, since it is now a multimedia piece of software?

I think we'll get a software update of the iLife and iWork suites, a closer look at Leopard and it's new features, and an update to Frontrow for use with iTV. Am I the only one who thought the iTV interface looked less than polished?

No video iPod, but the iPhone will debut. This will be the BIG announcement. I don't think they would release a new iPod at the same time as the phone, so my money is on an iPhone.
I expext the quad core Mac Pros too. --prays-- A mid tower or mid priced configuration of the Mac Pro. By mid I mean around $1400 - $1600.
That's it! Try to keep some perspective. Everytime one of these keynotes is given the rumor mill predicts everything and the kitchen sink, but only a small number of annoucemnets are actually made. Why all this hostility against Scandinavia ? In Norway we pay 25 percent VAT on music and iPods and expect them to work well with other products.
The Powerbook I am typing this on had a faulty harddrive and crashed after 16 months of use. Apple Norway fixed it for free. Did I have AppleCare ? No, Norwegian law dictates that a consumer electronic product should have no technical problems in the first two years with a maximum of five.
A maxed out 17" MacBook Pro will set you back US $4,304 in Norway. Now you understand why we are kinda picky ?
A nice flat in Oslo/Trondheim costs about the same as in the better parts of San Francisco (Pine Street/Pacific Heights). It is not New York prices.. but we are getting there :(

I think its the kid's responsibility here. The OP had every intention of paying for his purchase, but the cashier dropped the ball big time. When you take on a job, you assume the responsibilities that come with it. Making a mistake that big will have consequences. I would hate to have someone that makes mistakes like that working for me.
Hogwash. The cashier made a mistake. At the moment the mistake was made ONE party knew about it and one didn't. The OP, who knew that a mistake had been made said nothing about it. He should have. People can defend this guy all they want, but the fact of the matter is that he deserves the flames he's getting. An ethical person would have said "you forgot to charge my card" and paid the outstanding balance.

nope not free. I happen to have a Pipeline subscription since I cancelled my cable tv in anticipation of AppleTV: subscribe to the shows I watch and use Pipeline for my live news tv needs.
Apple is becoming mainstream and everybody is watching. I bet next year we'll have more networks streaming the keynote live.

The report also claims that the Verizon iPhone is already shipping to Verizon warehouses, and the carrier will maintain control over all stock until launch in order to control information leaks.
The idea of Verizon (or any operator) controlling information leaks seems a little implausible to me -- BoyGeniusReport often publishes leaked screenshots from operators, for example.
That said, there seems to be growing consensus that the Verizon iPhone is coming -- and coming soon!

The market doesn't need the PC to evolve anymore. From a hardware perspective, most people could use hardware made 5 years ago to do the simple applications they use.
On the other hand, PC software has evolved where there has been a need and competition drives it.
Building things cheaper at the sake of cutting costs and innovation doesn't work. The american automobile industry is a living proof of that.
You are correct on the first part. Apple removed the need for most people to need a PC with the introduction of the Ipad.
99% of the junk from China wouldn't exist if you were correct on the last part.
On the other hand, PC software has evolved where there has been a need and competition drives it.

When I read the subject, I got a little hopeful...when I saw the screenshot showing Spaces/Expos�, I really thought the "UI tweak" was that they'd let us use the old Spaces if we wanted to.

Yeah, not a lot of stuff has changed from Snow Leopard in the way of user interface, and most of the stuff can be avoided completely, like LaunchPad. There are some annoying things that I've noticed though, like DigitalColor Meter only having the option for RGB colors, and nothing else. Something small that is really annoying.
Spaces behaves completely different due to the fullscreen mode addition, and it's taking some getting used to.
I love the ability double-tap zoom in the browser.
Flash is partially broken.
